Mangrove Cleanup
With the Landmark Mangrove Project, our main goal in Green Abu Dhabi has been fulfilled. Thanks to the generous support of the Abu Dhabi Municipality, Mubadala, Mubadala GE Capital, and GE, we have managed to hail a wonderful first cleanup event. The Landmark Mangrove Project is essentially a plan to clean one particular mangrove every month at the same time in the same way, to create some consistency in doing so and with the help of the public and corporate community. This way people will know we can clean up our mangroves safely and with some impact, and we can reach our message to lots of different groups by giving everyone a chance throughout the year. Our purpose is simple, lets clean up, have some fun, educate, and get more and more people to do the same, and by doing so save this one mangrove. We have chosen to have our first cleanup during Green Abu Dhabi 2013 to inaugurate the beginning of this project during our efforts to raise money for next years Mangrove Project. And even though this first cleanup is already fully booked, we still encourage the public to come and watch, buy our merchandise, and see our show and absorb our message which is free to all.
Please visit us at the Landmark Mangrove Project by first coming to the Eastern Mangroves Hotel and Spa by Anantara at 1pm on Friday May 31'st 2013. Here you will be taken on a tour of George Lewis' artwork in the Exhibition "Ahlan wa Sahlan". Then after you have heard and seen our message, you can drive only a short distance to the Cleanup location which is identified below. We will start the cleanup by 3:00pm on that same day and it will end by 7pm.
We hope to see you all there.
